Jihan Amani François

Chief Experience Officer + Lead Planner

Born & raised in Allentown, PA, Jihan has loved planning since the age of six. That’s when she started her first business, a friendship bracelet making company with her friends. She planned and organized everything – gave everyone titles, created order forms and business cards, planned weekly “business” meetings and mapped their growth strategy! In college, that spirit only grew tenfold as Jihan started working with classmates planning and executing events.

Her undergraduate degree is in Entrepreneurship from Hampton University and she earned her MBA in Marketing from Emory University, Goizueta Business School. Jihan has worked in a variety of Marketing and Communications roles for nonprofits and marketing agencies. In all her professional roles, event planning was her favorite part. She began a side hustle where she helped coordinate events throughout the country for corporate clients as well as entertainers and professional athletes. She also started planning weddings for friends and family.

In 2017, Jihan officially launched Amani Affairs. She is a Certified Wedding & Event Planner through the Lovegevity Institute and University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and the recipient of Lovegevity’s 2018 Dream Maker Award. Faculty, staff, and students select winners based on their attention to detail, creativity, professionalism and outstanding performance.

In 2018, thanks to the generosity of Lovegevity, Jihan received a scholarship to attend the David Tutera Event Planning Symposium in Santa Monica, CA. At the end of the symposium, David chose two attendees to work on at least one event with him and his team over the next year. Jihan was fortunate to be one of the chosen two. She had the privilege of executing a wedding with him in New York in June 2018. She is excited that he has asked her to join his team for more events in 2019.

Weddings and events are her passion. Being organized makes her smile. It’s a dream come true to have a career that allows her to live her purpose, which is helping people experience the best times of their lives.

Jihan Amani François

Chief Experience Officer + Lead Planner

Planning is what Jihan was born to do! As a six-year-old, she started her first business, a friendship bracelet-making company, with her friends. As Jihan grew older, she became even more driven to become an entrepreneur and planner.  In college,  she started working with classmates, planning and executing events – parties, album releases, conferences – they did it all.

Jihan’s pursued an undergraduate degree in entrepreneurship to achieve her dream to own a business. She worked in finance, but that didn’t quench her creative desires. So she decided to go back to school to earn an MBA in Marketing. After business school, she worked in marketing and communications roles for nonprofits and marketing agencies, including event planning. During the evenings and weekends, Jihan laid the foundation for her business by helping to coordinate events throughout the country for corporate clients as well as entertainers and professional athletes. Serving as an event planner has taken her places she never imagined and allowed her to meet great people while having fun.

In 2007, Jihan was asked to help plan a good friend’s 2008 wedding in the Cayman Islands and serve as the day-of coordinator. This was her first wedding, and Jihan lived in a different city from the bride and groom.  Despite the distance and a slight case of nerves, she successfully planned a BEAUTIFUL wedding. Jihan was officially hooked after that and has been planning and coordinating weddings and events any and everywhere ever since. She is now a Certified Wedding & Event Planner through the Lovegevity Institute and has worked weddings as a member of David Tutera’s team.

Weddings and events are Jihan’s passion. It’s a dream come true to have a career that allows her to live her purpose, helping people experience the best times of their lives.
